MnDOT to host public meeting for Hwy 33 intersection study in Cloquet

DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting on Thursday, Feb. 1, to focus on two Hwy 33 intersections in Cloquet: Carlton Avenue and Cloquet Avenue/Hwy 45. The meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the Cloquet Public Library, 320 14th St. , Cloquet.

MnDOT has a project planned in 2028 along the Hwy 33 corridor from Big Lake Road/Doddridge Avenue to the St. Louis River bridge. The meeting on Feb. 1 is to talk specifically about the Carlton Avenue and Cloquet Avenue intersections. After feedback from the community, MnDOT is proposing alternatives at the intersections and would like public feedback. There will be a brief presentation and time to look at intersection layouts and ask questions.

There will also be a public survey posted online to gather feedback on the alternatives.
