MnDOT to host virtual public meeting on March 19 for Stone Arch Bridge project
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is hosting a virtual public meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 19 to share an overview of the Stone Arch Bridge restoration project, construction impacts and schedule, and to answer questions. There will be a short presentation and a Question-and-Answer session during the virtual public meeting. Registration for this meeting is available on the project webpage.
Starting in Spring 2024, MnDOT crews will begin repairing the historic Stone Arch Bridge spanning the Mississippi River on the edge of downtown Minneapolis. Stone repair and mortar replacement will improve the condition of this aging bridge and maintain the integrity of its stonework. MnDOT will close half of the bridge at a time during construction, allowing people to walk or bike to the middle of the bridge and turn around at the closure. Construction is anticipated to be complete by Spring 2026.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, a foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print) for this meeting, please email your request to ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720.
For more information on the project and to register for the virtual public meeting, visit the project webpage at mndot.gov/metro/projects/stonearchbridge.
