No travel advisory lifted at 2 p.m. from state highways and Interstate 90 in South Central Minnesota
MANKATO, Minn. – (1:50 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation will lift the no travel advisory at 2 p.m. today from Interstate 90 and state highways in South Central Minnesota.
Visibility has improved, however, there is still blowing snow and highways are icy. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and drive according to conditions.
Motorists should:
- Check www.511mn.org for road condition information and traffic cameras
- Stay alert for snowplows, which turn or exit frequently and often with little warning.
- Stay back at least 10 car lengths behind the plow. Don’t drive into a snow cloud.
- Slow down to a safe speed for current conditions.
- Turn on your headlights and wear your seat belt.
- Turn off the cruise control.
- Be patient and remember snowplows are working to improve road conditions for your trip.
- Don’t drive distracted.
