Rescheduled: Ramp closures at the Interstate 494/Highway 100 interchange begin April 7
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Starting at 10 p.m. Sunday, April 7 through early May, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close the ramps from eastbound I-494 to northbound Hwy 100 and southbound Hwy 100 to eastbound I-494. These closures, originally scheduled to begin Sunday, Mar. 17, are necessary so construction crews can realign and reconstruct the ramps.
Motorists traveling on eastbound I-494 can use the cloverleaf ramp at the Highway 212/I-494 interchange from eastbound I-494 to eastbound Highway 212 to northbound Highway 100 as a detour.
For the southbound Highway 100 to eastbound I-494 ramp closure, motorists can take eastbound Highway 62 to southbound I-35W to eastbound I-494 as a detour.
Construction work on American Boulevard in Bloomington begins April 8
Beginning at 5 a.m. Monday, April 8 through late summer 2024, MnDOT will close American Boulevard to through traffic between Highway 100 and France Avenue. This through traffic closure is necessary so crews can realign American Boulevard by shifting the road to the south and converting it from 4 lanes to 3 lanes with a center left turn lane. This work will also include utility improvements and retaining wall construction.
During construction on American Boulevard, motorists can use France Avenue to 84th Street to Normandale Lake Boulevard as a through traffic detour. However, local access to all businesses and residences will be open and maintained throughout construction.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, and slowdown in work zones where workers are present.
