Public meeting set for April 24 for I-90 construction between Nodine and Dakota
DAKOTA, Minn. – The public is invited to attend a public meeting on Wednesday, April 24, in Dakota to learn more about a 2026 construction project on Interstate 90 on Nodine Hill, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The open-house style meeting will be held in-person from 4-6 p.m. at the Dakota Community Center at 725 Frontage Rd, Dakota, MN 55925, in the main community room. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the upcoming changes and construction impacts. No formal presentation is planned, so attendees can stop in at their convenience and leave afterward to better fit their schedules.
MnDOT’s planned work includes repaving 5 miles of I-90 between Nodine and Dakota, replacing the westbound I-90 bridge over Winona Co. Rd. 101, as well as replacing approach panels and bridge barrier guardrail connections on the westbound I-90 bridge over southbound Hwy 61. CR 101 will be detoured during the bridge replacement.
Other safety improvements include the installation of additional reinforcements and a synthetic liner to reduce sinkhole risks, as well as the re-establishment of rock catchment areas. The addition of a slight banking of the right lane of northbound I-90 near the bridge over southbound Hwy 61 is also planned to improve safety on the road.
To learn more about the project, visit the MnDOT project website where you can sign up for updates and review information.
