Update: Expect delays at Hwy 99 Minnesota River Bridge in St. Peter May 6-8
The routine bridge inspection of the steel truss Highway 99 bridge over the Minnesota River in St. Peter previously scheduled for May 6-9 has been postponed to a later date due to current high water river levels. (May 5, 2024)
MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists will encounter minor traffic delays May 6-8, weather permitting, at the historic Highway 99 bridge over the Minnesota River in St. Peter, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Bridge experts from the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be performing routine inspection from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the fracture-critical 1931 iron truss bridge.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane across the bridge from with a flagging operation in place.
The Highway 99 Minnesota River Bridge in St. Peter is inspected every year.
