Hwy 68 Minneota to Marshall resurfacing project begins May 13; allow extra travel time
WILLMAR, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin the Highway 68 Minneota to Marshall resurfacing project on May 13. MnDOT will resurface Highway 68 from North Grant Street in Minneota to the intersection of Highway 59 in Marshall. The city of Ghent is not included in the project and will be resurfaced at a later date.
Work is expected to conclude June 30. Construction dates are subject to change depending on weather and other unforeseeable circumstances.
Traffic impacts
Resurfacing of the roadway will be done under traffic and a detour is not required. A flagging operation will be in place and travelers should allow extra travel time. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone and be alert for workers and heavy equipment.

Project benefits and cost
Benefits of the project include an improved road surface for a smoother ride. Central Specialties, Inc., is the contractor, and the project cost is approximately $3.1 million.
