New start date of May 20 for Highway 68 Minneota to Marshall resurfacing project
WILLMAR, Minn. – The start date for the Highway 68 Minneota to Marshall resurfacing project has been rescheduled to Monday, May 20, due to weather and other unforeseeable circumstances, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
MnDOT will resurface Highway 68 from North Grant Street in Minneota to the intersection of Highway 59 in Marshall. The city of Ghent is not included in the project and will be resurfaced at a later date.
Work is still expected to conclude June 30.
Traffic impacts
Resurfacing of the roadway will be done under traffic and a detour is not required. A flagging operation will be in place and travelers should allow extra travel time. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone and be alert for workers and heavy equipment.
Project benefits and cost
Benefits of the project include an improved road surface for a smoother ride. Central Specialties, Inc., is the contractor, and the project cost is approximately $3.1 million.
