Ramp closure from Penn Avenue to westbound Interstate 494 in Bloomington begins May 12
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday, May 12, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close the ramp from Penn Avenue to westbound Interstate 494 through 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 21. This closure is necessary so that crews can safely remove the existing retaining wall.
Motorists traveling in this area can use southbound Penn Avenue to westbound American Boulevard to northbound France Avenue to westbound I-494 as a detour.
MnDOT will also close the ramp from Penn Avenue to eastbound I-494 starting at 5 a.m. Monday, May 20. This closure, which will remain in place through mid-November, is necessary so that crews can reconstruct the ramp from Penn Avenue to eastbound I-494 and the ramp from eastbound I-494 to southbound Interstate 35W.
Motorists traveling in the area can use westbound I-494 to southbound France Avenue to eastbound I-494 as a detour route.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, and slowdown in work zones where workers are present.
