Stillwater Lift Bridge closes Tuesday, June 4, for electrical work
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Stillwater Lift Bridge will close from 7 a.m. until about 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, to replace an electrical power cable used to operate the lift span of the bridge, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. During the work, MnDOT will restrict all pedestrian and bicycle traffic from the bridge and suspend the lift schedule. The lift span of the bridge will remain in the down position although smaller boats and other watercraft will be able to pass beneath the structure.
Once the new electrical cable is installed, the bridge will reopen, and the lift span will resume lifts for marine traffic.
In case of inclement weather, MnDOT will repair the bridge during the same time on Wednesday, June 5.
The city of Stillwater’s new pedestrian/bicycle plaza on Chestnut Street between Highway 95 (Main Street) and the lift bridge will remain open during repair work on the bridge.
