Project Manager Newsletter
June 2025
Hi, all. Welcome to the June edition of the PM newsletter, a little belated in part because of recent events in Brooklyn Park and nearby Champlin.
First, I’d like to express my condolences to Brooklyn Park and the surrounding communities on the loss of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. My thoughts are with Senator Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, as they recover from their injuries. Representative Hortman was on our Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) for the Hwy 252/I94 Environmental Study and Senator Hoffman is also a member.
We recently postponed events due to the tragedies and will resume them later this month.
When I woke up that Saturday morning and found out what happened, I was in shock, which I am sure many of you were too. I recalled talking with Representative Hortman in March about the environmental study and I could instantly tell how much she cared about the community she represented and their concerns. She strived to make sure I knew about those concerns and would address them, which I am and will continue to do.
I will keep this newsletter short with a reminder about our current survey.
The survey for the Phase 1B Hwy 252 access recommendation is still open until Wed, July 2. Please go to the website and fill in your responses to the survey.
Be sure to watch the recording of the recent virtual Table Talk meeting if you have any questions about our recommendation for access.
