Crews begin Hwy 101 improvement project in Chanhassen and Eden Prairie on June 10

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Crews begin work on the Highway 101 improvement project in Chanhassen and Eden Prairie at 6 a.m. Monday, June 10, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Then, beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, June 17, crews will close Highway 101 in both directions, between Highway 5 in Chanhassen and County Road 62 in Eden Prairie through October. During this time, Highway 101 will only be open to local traffic between Chanhassen and Eden Prairie.
Regional traffic not seeking a destination within the project area will use a detour route. Southbound drivers at Highway 101 and Highway 7 will be routed west to Highway 41; south to Highway 5; and east to Highway 101. Northbound drivers at Highway 101 and Highway 5 will be routed west to Powers Boulevard; north to Highway 7; and east to Highway 101.
Local traffic will take turns using a single lane, controlled by a stop sign, between Choctaw Circle and Sandy Hook Road/Lotus View Drive as crews improve drainage at Purgatory Creek.

Crews will work on the project through late October 2024.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change.

As part of the project, in partnership with the cities of Chanhassen and Eden Prairie, crews will repave two miles of road between County Road 62 in Eden Prairie and Highway 5 in Chanhassen. Workers will also reconstruct the adjacent trail; add pedestrian crossing signals at Valley View Road and Twilight Trail; improve accessibility of ramps and signals; fix shoulders; and repair drainage issues at Purgatory Creek.
