June 24 Update: Road closures continue across northeastern Minnesota

DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is continuing to monitor road conditions as recent heavy rains have hit northeastern Minnesota and as more rain is forecasted.
As of Monday, June 24, the following highway remains closed:

Highway 1 (MP 293.7) between Pyhola Road and Little Lake Road (6 miles east of Ely). The road has washed out and a detour is in place.

Some roads may have temporary gravel repairs where the roads have previously washed out. Motorists should use continue to use caution where shoulders may be eroded and should not drive around barriers closing off roads. 511mn.org will continue to be updated with the latest conditions.
