Crews begin Hwy 13 shoulder project on Aug. 12

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Crews will reduce portions of Highway 13 in Savage and Burnsville to one lane while making improvements to the road shoulder, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Beginning early morning Monday, Aug. 12, crews will intermittently close portions of one eastbound Highway 13 lane between Dakota Avenue and Interstate 35W while completing work on the shoulder. When finished with eastbound Highway 13, crews will move to westbound Highway 13, where they will also intermittently close portions of one lane between Dakota Avenue and I-35W.

Workers will also temporarily close the eastbound Highway 13 to southbound I-35W ramp and the southbound I-35W to westbound Highway 13 ramp. Crews will not schedule the ramp closures during rush hours from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., or 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The project is scheduled for completion on Aug. 31, weather permitting.

Crews will work 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., installing 28 concrete storm drains and 21 bus lane signs.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change.
