Highway 25 closes to construct a new roundabout in north Buffalo Aug. 15
Project improves overall access, safety and traffic flow
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists to encounter Highway 25 closed and detoured north of Highway 55 in Buffalo, as Wright County begins construction of a new single-lane roundabout at County Road 83 (35th Street NE) on Thursday, Aug. 15, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Here’s what to expect:
- Through travelers: Highway 25 will close between Wright County Road 37, south of Monticello, and Highway 55 in Buffalo. The detour uses County Road 37, County Road 12 and Highway 55 back to Highway 25 in Buffalo. Detour adds 1.2 miles to trip.
- Local travelers: Highway 25 will be open and maintained; however, expect a hard closure at the Wright County Road 83 (35th Street NE) intersection between Third Avenue NE and Westridge Court (West Pulaski Park entrance).
- County Road 83 (35th Street NE) will be closed east of Braddock Avenue NE to Highway 25.
- Download a detour map: www.mndot.gov/d3/buffalo.
MnDOT reminds drivers to add time to their commute, expect changes, and watch for trucks as they enter and exit the intersection work zone.
When complete in late September, the new roundabout will improve overall access, safety and traffic flow at this busy intersection in Wright County. To learn more about the benefits of roundabouts in Minnesota, visit www.mndot.gov/roundabouts/.
