Rabenberg selected for MnDOT District State-Aid Engineer

MANKATO, Minn. —The Minnesota Department of Transportation selected William Rabenberg for the position of assistant district engineer for state aid in MnDOT District 7.  Rabenberg began his new role on August 14.

Rabenberg replaces Lisa Bigham who retired from MnDOT in July 2024.

This management position is responsible for oversight of all local transportation projects using state or federal aid funds.  Rabenberg will work with 13 county engineers and nine city engineers in Blue Earth, Brown, Cottonwood, Faribault, Jackson, LeSueur, Martin, Nicollet, Nobles, Rock, Sibley, Waseca, and Watonwan counties.  He will be an active member of the South Central Area Transportation Partnership, and will develop and maintain relations with all levels of government.

Rabenberg has over 27 years of experience working as an assistant county engineer/county engineer for various counties in both Minnesota and in Iowa. Most recently Rabenberg worked as the Clay County Engineer in Iowa, and he looks forward to working with the cities and counties in MnDOT District 7.

Rabenberg holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Iowa State University. Rabenberg and his wife have three sons, and they recently welcomed their first grandson.
