UPDATE: Hwy 257 resurfacing project from Hanska to Hwy 15 begins Aug. 17

MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin a resurfacing project on Highway 257 from Hanska to Highway 15 on Saturday, August 17, weather permitting.

MnDOT will resurface Highway 257 from Broadway Street in Hanska to the intersection with Highway 15. A map of the construction work zone is attached.

Resurfacing of the highway will be done under traffic and a detour will not be required. A flagging operation will be in place and travelers should allow for extra travel time. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone and be alert for workers and heavy equipment.

The project is expected to be complete in mid-September. Construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to be attentive and drive with caution in work zones where workers are present.

Benefits of the project include a smoother road surface for motorists and safety. Ulland Brothers, Inc. was awarded the project with a bid of $797,752.31.

Visit the Highway 257 project website for more information.
