MnDOT asks public for feedback to guide new State Freight Plan
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is asking the public to help shape future freight infrastructure investments by proving feedback and comments on the new Minnesota State Freight Plan.
The Minnesota State Freight Plan is a federally required effort that envisions the future of the Minnesota freight transportation system over the next 20 years. The plan describes the importance of freight to Minnesota’s economy, the current state of the freight system and trends. It also identifies key freight investments that better support the transportation of goods and services across the state.
The new draft State Freight Plan is available for review online at minnesotago.org/final-plans/state-freight-plan, and paper copies are also available for review at eight MnDOT District Headquarter offices located in Duluth, Bemidji, Baxter, Detroit Lakes, Rochester, Mankato, Willmar and Roseville.

A public open house will also be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at MnDOT’s Statewide Headquarters, 395 John Ireland Blvd, St. Paul, Minnesota 55155 in room G13. A short presentation will begin at 2 p.m. Copies of the draft State Freight Plan will be available for review.
