I-35 Hinckley southbound work deferred to 2025
DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be deferring all southbound bridge, paving and ramp work on I-35 near Hinckley until 2025. Construction on northbound I-35 will be complete this fall.
This project was previously scheduled to take place over two years, but more work will occur in 2025 than originally planned. In 2025, all southbound construction including the rail bridge, southbound Grindstone River bridge and southbound Highway 48 on and off ramps will be completed.
All northbound work on I-35 will be completed by the end of October. Motorists can expect single lane head-to-head traffic until that time.
Motorists should always be prepared to encounter traffic changes when approaching work zones including lane closures, lane shifts, uneven road surfaces, slow-moving heavy equipment and slow or stopped traffic.
