Crews to close Hwy 55 Sept. 7 near Rosemount

ROSEVILLE, Minn. —Motorists traveling in both directions of Hwy 55 near Rosemount will encounter a full road closure as crews begin a safety improvement project, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

From 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, Hwy 55 will completely close between Co. Rd. 42 and Highway 52. This closure is necessary to make repairs at the railroad crossing near Doyle Path.

Motorists will follow a posted detour using Co. Rd. 42/145th Street, and Hwy 52. Motorists accessing businesses on the west side of the railroad tracks will use Hwy 52 to and from the business. Motorists accessing businesses on the east side of the railroad tracks will access from Co. Rd. 42.

Motorists should avoid cutting through neighborhoods and help keep the community safe by using posted detour routes.

A larger construction project is scheduled in the area for October, with more information to come.
