Highway 10 access at Highway 115 in Randall closes, detours Sept. 10
BAXTER, Minn. – Those who travel on Highway 10 through Randall will encounter the access to/from Highway 115 and 80th Avenue closed, including the median crossover, as crews reconstruct the future J-turn access Sept. 10–27, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Here’s what to expect on Highway 10 between Morrison County Road 14/1 and Highway 115:
- Single-lane closures continue on both directions, 24/7, with reduced speeds
- Highway 115 closed between Highway 10 and Superior Avenue; use County Road 104 (Sixth Street)
- 80th Avenue closed to/from Highway 10; use 210th Avenue east of Randall
- County Road 14/1 (First Street) open, includes the median crossover
- County Road 104 (Sixth Street) open, includes the median crossover
This is the first of two J-turn accesses that will be constructed on Highway 10 in Randall. After Sept. 27, crews will reconstruct the County Road 14/1 access.
J-turns, also known as reduced conflict intersections, are driving movements proven to reduce serious and fatal crashes caused by T-bone crashes at intersections. When using J-turns, drivers focus on one direction of traffic at a time.
When complete in late October, the project will improve safety, traffic flow and local access on Highway 10 through Randall.
