Highway 1 in Ely closed for water main repair work
DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation has temporarily closed Highway 1 in Ely due to a water main break between 3rd and 4th Avenue West. Traffic is being detoured from Highway 1 on those avenues to West Chapman Street. The City of Ely is currently working on repairs and the highway is expected to reopen Thursday.
