Hwy 10 access at Co. Rd. 14/1 in Randall closes, detours Sept. 25
BAXTER, Minn. – Those who travel on Hwy 10 through Randall will encounter the access to/from Morrison Co. Rd. 14 and Co. Rd. 1 (First Street) closed, including the median crossover, as crews begin to reconstruct the future J-turn access Wednesday, Sept. 25, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Here’s what to expect Sept. 25–Oct. 11 on Hwy 10 between Co. Rd. 14/1 and Hwy 115:
- Single-lane closures continue on both directions, 24/7, with reduced speeds
- East Co. Rd. 14/1 closed between westbound Hwy 10 and Superior Avenue, includes the median crossover; use Pacific Avenue and Co. Rd. 104 (Sixth Street) in Randall
- West Co. Rd. 14/1 closed between eastbound Highway 10 and Co. Rd.1, includes the median crossover; use Bison Avenue (Co. Rd. 207) at Cushing
- Co. Rd. 104 (Sixth Street) open, includes the median crossover
- New J-turn access open at Hwy 115 and 80th Avenue
This is the second of two J-turn accesses that will be constructed on Hwy 10 in Randall. When the new J-turn opens at Co. Rd. 14/1 in mid-October, crews will permanently close and remove the Hwy 10 median crossover at Co. Rd. 104.
J-turns, also known as reduced conflict intersections, are driving movements proven to reduce serious and fatal crashes caused by T-bone crashes at intersections. When using J-turns, drivers focus on one direction of traffic at a time.
When complete in late October, the project will improve safety, traffic flow and local access on Hwy 10 through Randall.
