Repairs to the Hwy 99 Minnesota River Bridge sidewalk in St. Peter begin October 7
MANKATO, Minn. – Repairs to the sidewalk across the historic Hwy 99 Minnesota River Bridge in St. Peter are expected to begin on Monday, October 7, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists should expect minor traffic delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane across the bridge with a flagging operation in place for approximately a week.
Additionally, the Hwy 99 Minnesota River Bridge will be closed for one day sometime during the week of October 7. Highway 99 traffic will be detoured to Le Sueur Co. Rd. 21 (Golf Course Road), Shanaska Creek Road, and Hwys 22 and 169 during the one-day closure of the bridge. The date for the one-day closure of the bridge is yet to be determined. Motorists are encouraged to check www.511mn.org before they travel.
Work on the sidewalk will include structural steel repairs. The sidewalk has been closed since late June after it sustained damage due to flooding from the Minnesota River.
