Eastbound Interstate 90 off-ramp to La Crescent detoured Oct. 21-25 for repairs
LA CRESCENT, Minn. — Eastbound Interstate 90 motorists at Exit 276 near La Crescent will be detoured Oct. 21-25 during off-ramp repairs, according to Minnesota Department of Transportation.
MnDOT crews will be doing concrete repair work that spans more of the ramp and requires the closure and detour. The work requires removal of concrete and new concrete to replace repaired areas. Concrete requires time to cure or gain sufficient strength to allow vehicle traffic back on the ramp.
Eastbound I-90 motorists who use Exit 276 to travel to La Crescent on southbound Hwy 61 will be detoured east across the Mississippi River to Wisconsin and Exit 2. Motorists exit and cross I-90 and return on westbound I-90 to westbound Exit 276 at the Dresbach rest area and follow the signs to La Crescent.
Safety
Be alert for work zones and slow down. Follow these safe driving tips:
- Obey posted speed limits. The fine for speeding in a work zone is $300.
- Drive undistracted. Avoid using phones, mobile devices, adjusting the radio – even eating – while in work zones.
- Move over. Give workers room to safely complete their work.
- Be patient. Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Avoid making unnecessary lane changes.
- Never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
- Expect work zones to constantly change. Day to day you could experience lane shifts, closures, narrower lanes, moving workers and vehicles.
