Oct. 30 meeting set to learn about Hwy 74 bridge replacement in St. Charles
St. Charles, Minn. – The public is invited to attend a public information meeting on Oct. 30 to learn more about the replacement of the Highway 74 bridge over the South Fork Whitewater River, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The meeting will be held in person from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the St. Charles City Hall, 830 Whitewater Avenue, St. Charles, MN. Attendees will learn more about the project and what to expect during construction, which is scheduled to begin in 2026.
People unable to attend the meeting will be able to review the information on the MnDOT project website.
MnDOT will replace the aging bridge in 2026. The new bridge will look like the existing bridge, but with newer, modern components. It will also have a wider shoulder. This will make using the bridge more comfortable for bicyclists and pedestrians and give agricultural and large vehicles more room.
To learn more about the project, visit the MnDOT project website, where you can also sign up for project email updates.
