All lanes open on Highway 25 in Monticello
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is excited to announce all four lanes of Highway 25 at the Mississippi River bridge between Third Street and Sherburne County Road 11/14 in Monticello will open to motorists Friday, Oct. 18.
The Highway 25 intersections at Sherburne County Road 11/14 and Broadway Avenue/Wright County Road 75 will also fully open and signal systems re-timed.
River Street will remain closed at Highway 25. The City of Monticello is waiting for a pedestrian signal component to arrive in early November that is necessary for the signal system to function.
Please remember it takes time to reopen the work zone. For your safety and ours, be patient and expect changes as the work zone transitions throughout the day. Crews will need to remove road signs, traffic control devices and re-time intersection signal systems.
Motorists will continue to encounter periodic off-peak lane or shoulder closures as crews complete any remaining work through late October, including the sidewalk on the south side of the bridge. Pedestrians can continue to use the newly-completed sidewalk on the north side.
MnDOT thanks the traveling public for their patience as we delivered this $2.6 million bridge improvement project that provides travelers with a smoother ride, widened sidewalks and updated storm water drainage.
