Hwy 4 from Sherburn to Ormsby opens October 31
MANKATO, Minn. – Highway 4 from Sherburn to Ormsby is expected to open to traffic by the end of the day on Thursday, October 31, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The contractor has indicated that Hwy 4 from Ormsby to St. James will remain closed to thru traffic until mid-November, weather permitting. Traffic is detoured to Watonwan County Roads 8 and 27.
The Hwy 4 project between Sherburn and St. James includes roadway, bridge, and drainage improvements. In addition to resurfacing approximately 25 miles of roadway, the bridge over Cedar Run was replaced and multiple bridges were repaired. Pedestrian accommodations in the cities of Sherburn and Trimont were also improved.
MnDOT thanks area residents and motorists for their patience during this lengthy construction season.
Benefits of the project include improved pavement, drainage, and pedestrian accommodations. OMG Midwest was awarded the project with a bid of $20,724,636.58.
