New safer accesses open along Highway 10 in Randall

BAXTER, Minn. – Those who travel in the Randall area will encounter a new, safer way to access Highway 10 as two new J-turns open, announces the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Crews modified four accesses on Highway 10 in Randall. They removed the median crossovers at Morrison County Road 104 and Willow Lane and reconstructed the intersections at County Road 14/1 and Highway 115 with a J-turn design. These new J-turn accesses work together to improve safety and traffic flow, especially at recreational weekend peaks in summer.

Also known as reduced conflict intersections, J-turns are driving movements proven to reduce serious and fatal crashes caused by T-bone crashes at intersections. When using them, drivers can focus on one direction of traffic at a time.

MnDOT thanks the Randall community and traveling public for their patience during the project.

Due to material delays, crews will return in early December to install new street lighting; motorists may encounter minimal lane or shoulder closures. Watch for workers and equipment, and be prepared to stop or slow down.
