Feb. 25 public meeting set for Hwy 14 and Broadway Avenue Intersection
ROCHESTER, Minn. – The public is invited to attend a public information meeting on Feb. 25 to learn more about proposed changes to the Highway 14 and Broadway Avenue intersection, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The meeting will be held in person from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at Aune Hall at Graham Park, 1508 Aune Drive SE, Rochester, Mn 55904. Project staff will be available to discuss the updated design of the intersection, how public input was incorporated and the next steps.
People unable to attend the meeting will be able to review the information on the MnDOT project website and provide feedback through a short survey.
In 2027, the Highway 14 and Broadway Avenue intersection in Rochester will receive safety improvements. Every day, almost 50,000 vehicles use the intersection. MnDOT and the City of Rochester are looking into changes to reduce crashes and improve crossings for pedestrians and bicyclists.
The project will span west and east on Highway 14 from 4th Avenue SW to 3rd Avenue SE and north and south from 9th Street SE to the access points north of 14 Street SW. Some portions of this project will include a reconstruction, where the road and roadbed are removed and replaced.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720.
