MnDOT hosts March 19 public meeting for Highway 212 J-turn project in Norwood Young America and Young America Township

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host an in-person public meeting on March 19 with information about a Highway 212 J-turn safety improvement project between Highway 5/Highway 25/County Road 131 in Young America Township and Highway 5/Highway 25/Reform Street in Norwood Young America.

The meeting is 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19 at Norwood Young America City Hall Council Chambers, 310 Elm St. W., Norwood Young America, MN 55368. There will be a brief presentation at 5 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, visit the project webpage for meeting updates.
If you can’t attend the in-person meeting, a virtual presentation will be posted on the project webpage following the meeting.

Beginning in spring 2026, crews will improve about 2.5 miles of Highway 212 by building J-turns at Highway 5/Highway 25/County Road 131, Wells Avenue, County Road 31 and West Railroad Street. Workers will also install cable median barriers.

The J-turns will help reduce “T-bone” crashes and the cable median barriers will help reduce cross-median crashes. The project is planned to be completed in fall 2026.
