Summary of MnDOT work

  • MnDOT is planning a large roadway project (reconstruction of Highway 19/College Drive) from 700 ft west of Marlene St through the intersection of Bruce Street in the city of Marshall.
  • The pavement has deteriorated and the city of Marshall needs to replace aging utilities.
  • A single-lane roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Highway 19/College Drive, Country Club Drive, and South 2nd Street.
  • An EV Charging Station will be installed in the Avera parking lot.
  • Sidewalk improvements will be made along the project area in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • A bike lane will be striped from Marlene St. to just west of Fairgrounds Rd.

Project update

Feb. 12, 2025

  • Crews will remove trees and brush along the project route between Feb. 17 and March 31.
  • Be alert for shoulder and lane closures; flaggers may be present during the cleanup and removal of downed trees and brush.
  • Tree clearing is necessary to make room for construction and sidewalk improvements.
  • Trees will be replanted in the fall of 2026.

Work will happen in stages to minimize travel disruptions.
