History and significance
Bridge 5827 was built in 1938 to carry State Highway 60 over a small streambed in Zumbro Falls, Wabasha County. The bridge was designed by the Minnesota Highway Department and constructed by the Works Progress Administration. The structure is a corrugated-metal, multi-plate arch culvert. It has concrete sidewalls, headwalls, and stepped wingwalls veneered with highly articulated, rock-faced, random-coursed, buff-colored limestone. The bridge is significant for its fine, rock-faced, random-pattern, limestone masonry that exemplifies the Rustic style of the New Deal era.
