Bridge 9090, constructed in 1963, carries U.S. Highway 2 over the Red River of the North at the North Dakota state line in East Grand Forks, Polk County. The bridge features two Parker camelback through truss main spans with riveted and bolted connections. Like other bridges over the Red River of the North, the bridge displays engineering features to accommodate the shifting soils, including a central pier for stability, rocker bents, and long approach spans. The bridge is significant for representing an engineering solution to particular site conditions and as an exceptionally long Parker steel through truss span.
