Public invited April 16 to I-90 Nodine Hill construction project open house 

DAKOTA, Minn. – Stop by the Dakota Community Center on April 16 for a presentation and discussion with the contractor about the I-90 Nodine Hill resurfacing and bridge replacement project. Construction begins next month, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

  • When: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., April 16
    The contractor will provide a brief presentation shortly after the open house begins.

Project details

Construction begins on May 4 and ends mid-October.

Early preparation work has begun for ditch clearing and tree removal in specific construction areas.
The project also includes:

  • Repave 5 miles of westbound and 4.7 miles of eastbound I-90.
  • Replace the westbound I-90 bridge over Winona Co. Rd. 101.
  • Replace approach panels and bridge barrier guardrail connections on the westbound I-90 bridge over southbound Hwy 61.
  • Improve safety by providing a slight banking of the right lane of northbound I-90 approaching the bridge over southbound Hwy 61.
  • Install new guardrail on the eastbound and westbound lanes and improve drainage.
  • Install a reinforcement and a synthetic liner to reduce sinkhole risks associated with Karst geology.
  • Clean and reestablish rock catchment areas.
