Design layouts

View the designs for sections of Hwy 13 in Savage and Burnsville. These designs were presented at a Jan. 27, 2026 public meeting, with public meetings also held in 2024 and 2025. The Nicollet Ave. interchange project is scheduled to begin in 2027, followed by work between Quentin Ave. and Washburn Ave.

Hwy 13 Layout: Nicollet Ave.

• Reconstruct and realign Hwy 13 between I-35W and Portland Ave.
• Build Hwy 13 bridge over Nicollet Ave.
• Add full interchange at Nicollet Ave.
• Add signals at Nicollet Ave./Hwy 13 on- and off-ramps for traffic management
• Build trails and sidewalks
• Construct drainage and ponds

Hwy 13 Layout: Quentin Ave. to Lynn Ave.

• Reconstruct Hwy 13
• Build Hwy 13 bridge over Quentin Ave.
• Build roundabout at Quentin Ave./123rd St. West
• Add Hwy 13 exit and entrance ramps at Quentin Ave.
• Build two Hwy 13 ramp bridges over Credit River
• Build Hwy 13 bridge over Huntington Ave.
• Build roundabout at Huntington Ave./Frontage Rd.
• Add westbound Hwy 13 to Huntington Ave./downtown Savage ramp
• Build Huntington Ave. to westbound Hwy 13 ramp
